Telegraph Praises “MICHAEL”

Posted in: 9th December 2010

Next Monday sees the release of Michael, his first new studio album in nine years. On pre-orders alone, it should go straight to number one around the world. Hold My Hand, Jackson’s duet with r’n’b writer-producer Akon is already racing up the charts, full of breathy exultation’s of the power of togetherness, while gospel choirs raise their voices in the background. It has the extraordinary confidence of a pop classic and presages an album that may well be Jackson’s best work since his Eighties glory days.

Michael bursts with verve and confidence, with lots of inspirational, uplifting anthems and melodic, sweetly sung ballads. There’s a fantastic, snarling rocker, featuring Lenny Kravitz: (I Can’t Make It) Another Day; an utterly bonkers, epic dance reworking of the Eric Clapton classic Behind the Mask featuring Japanese electro pioneers Yellow Magic Orchestra and a trio of snappily, percussive groove workouts.

It is a fine album and it is probably a better one than Jackson might have delivered left to his own devices. Without him around to prevaricate, second-guess himself and constantly cast aside songs in search of some elusive ideal, Sony have been able to assemble a collection of the best available recordings. Although lacking the overall sense of vision Jackson might have brought to the project, it is surprising how coherent it is. His utterly distinctive voice and very particular writing styles bind it together.

It turns out that the music he was making in his final years really wasn’t so different to the music he made in his heyday. It is certainly a great deal better than anyone had any right to expect. And so it seems that death really has no dominion over the music business. Jackson is finally about to get the comeback he craved.

‘Hold My Hand’ Video Debuts

Posted in: 9th December 2010

The new music video for “Hold My Hand” begins with hundreds of Michael Jackson fans yelling, “Love you Michael” — before showcasing classic MJ clips, MJ impersonations, and a giant shadow of Michael cast on the side of a hangar.

The music video also features a heavy dose of Akon — MJ’s duet partner on the song — and around 2:44 … a man with one hand. A casting call for the video had listed a role for “a disabled person with no hands.”

This is the first video and single from the album “MICHAEL” — which officially drops on Tuesday. Although, as we previously reported — and any web geek will confirm — it’s already leaked on the internet.

NEW LEAK: Blue Gangster

Posted in: 29th November 2010

“Blue Gangster” was written by Elliot Straite (Dr. Freeze, the same guy that co-wrote Break of Dawn and A Place With No Name) around 1999 – 2001 for the Invincible album. The song was fully completed, but never made the final cut.

In 2006, Tempamental and Pras got hold of it, added their own rap verses and called it “Gangsta”. It was available on Tempamental’s MySpace page for a while and was later replaced with “No Friend Of Mine”, an identical track, but the lyrics were tweaked and Michael’s verse was different.

Michael had nothing to do with the production of Gangsta or No Friend Of Mine, as confirmed by Michael’s PR in 2006 – it was just a matter of two relatively unknown artists having access to one of Michael’s songs from the Invincible sessions.

Today a new snippet of unheard vocals has been leaked from Michael’s original track (recorded for Invincible) “Blue Gangsta”

New “Duet Album” Planned Next!

Posted in: 9th November 2010

Speaking during an interview with an Atlanta Radio Station last night, Teddy Riley revealed that the NEXT project planned in The Michael Jackson Estate/Sony deal is an album of Duets.

“Mike has like, oo, I would say like 50 songs, from what I heard, that he laid down. That he laid down only the first verse and a chorus so its not finished.

So the next project will be getting some real stars in to come and sing a second verse and help finish the songs. Stars with real substance.”

No indication of time scales for release was given during the interview.

Jackie Jackson comments about “Michael”

Posted in: 9th November 2010

Jackie Jackson tweeted this afternoon about his concerns over various tracks on the forthcoming “Michael”

A lot of you have been asking me about this….

My friend John McClain (co-executor) and I have insisted for many weeks to have certain tracks removed from Michael’s new album.

Unfortunately, our concerns were not taken seriously

Sony: It Is Michael. Honest.

Posted in: 9th November 2010

SONY are doing everything they can to convince the world that it is Michael’s vocals on the ‘new’ song; ‘Breaking News’. Many fans think that the vocals are that of an imposter. It is undeniable that if it is Michael’s voice, it has been harshly cut and edited to become something that it originally wasn’t. Any true Michael Jackson vocal is instantly recognisable, no doubts, no concerns. He was of course world famous for having one of the most easily recognisable and identifiable voices in history.

Updates to come…

Hopefully.

REAL Breaking News from Sony: “’Breaking News’ is not Michael Jackson”

Posted in: 9th November 2010

Sources inside Sony Music finally seem to have admitted, the ‘new’ ‘Michael Jackson’ single…. is not sung by Michael Jackson, at least up to 50% they claim. The revelations confirmed what thousands of fans were claiming all over the world yesterday as the track was released amid allegations from the Jackson family including Michael’s children, that some of the vocals used on a number of new Michael Jackson tracks to be included on the forthcoming release “Michael” in December, were not those of the late King of Pop.

An acapella of the track minus the over-produced backing audio surfaced on YouTube earlier today which confirms the vocals are not those of Michael Jackson. The “50% not MJ” admission from Sony Music seems to throw the entire project’s release into doubt.

You can listen to the new acapella and decided for yourself, here: http://tiny.cc/9v444

Newly remixed “Hold My Hand” up next?

Posted in: 8th November 2010

This is unconfirmed, but word out there is that Sony will premiere a newly remixed version “Hold My Hand” a song previously leaked online, some time next week. The feeling is this maybe the new single. The track features the vocals of Akon, and the original version is still available online via sites such as YouTube.com
