Michael Jackson Not Buried Yet

Posted in: 12th August 2009

Joseph Jackson told E! News that, no, Michael has not been buried yet.  This is contrary to some published reports that he had already been laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park

Mr. Jackson declined to specify any plans or confirm the report that Michael’s body has been placed in Berry Gordy’s crypt, as some sources have speculated.

Mr. Jackson lives primarily in Las Vegas and also told E! that he supports a proposal to

“move”

Neverland to Vegas.

“I think Vegas would be great,”

said Mr. Jackson. And while he doesn’t think the family would visit , he does believe

“the fans would come.”

Asked about the ongoing investigation into Michael’s death, Mr. Jackson said he prefers not to discuss it, only adding,

“I still can’t believe he’s gone.”

Jackson tribute & WHY Vienna?

Posted in: 11th August 2009

Star-studded Vienna show will be televised live around the world

VIENNA – Next month’s tribute to Michael Jackson on the grounds of a 17th century palace in Vienna will feature a three-hour, star-studded show to be televised live to a global audience of 1 billion people, the event promoter said Tuesday.

Georg Kindel of World Awards Media GmbH said negotiations are ongoing with networks over rights to broadcast what’s being billed as Jackson’s main global tribute, and the pop legend’s brother Jermaine is assembling the lineup of about 10

“of the biggest artists of our time.”

“Jermaine thinks maybe 1 billion people will watch the television show,”

Kindel said in an interview with The Associated Press.

“It will be a very special evening for the millions of fans around the globe.”

Austrian media reported that Madonna, U2, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston might be among the artists performing 15-20 Jackson hits on a crown-shaped outdoor stage in front of Schoenbrunn Palace. But Kindel said the lineup is still in the works.

“I don’t even know myself”

who will take the stage, he said.

The event will be held in the second half of September, he said. Organizers have pledged to announce the date and lineup soon. Tickets go on sale Aug. 20.

Kindel said the show — conceived amid a flurry of events honoring Jackson since his death June 25 in Los Angeles — also will feature family members and unidentified Hollywood stars reminiscing as images and video clips of Jackson are screened.

“It will be about Michael Jackson the man and the humanitarian,”

he said, adding that a

“significant portion”

of the proceeds will benefit several charities, including the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, which helps patients who can’t afford heart surgery.

Why Vienna? Singer ‘loved castles’
Kindel said the tribute originally was planned for London’s Wembley Stadium on Aug. 29, which would have been Jackson’s 51st birthday, but that Jermaine Jackson decided instead on Vienna. The singer had been rehearsing for a series of London concerts at the time of his death.

Kindel said the switch took him by surprise:

“Everyone was expecting it would be staged maybe in London or New York or Los Angeles,”

he said.

Explaining Vienna as a venue, Jermaine Jackson told “Larry King Live” on Friday that his brother loved the city and

“loved castles.”

After Kindel organized a Jackson remembrance held last month outside a mothballed nuclear power plant west of Vienna, Jermaine Jackson spent a few hours touring Schoenbrunn, which his brother also had visited.

“He was really fascinated and said, ‘This is a really royal and ideal place for such a tribute to Michael,’”

Kindel told the AP.

The majestic yellow palace and its sprawling, sculpted gardens are nothing like Los Angeles’ Staples Center, where a big Jackson memorial was held last month, Kindel said.

Janet Invited to MOBO Awards in Michaels honour

Posted in: 10th August 2009

Singer Janet Jackson has been invited to make an apperance at the MOBO Awards in Glasgow on September 30. This would mark Janet’s first public apperance since her brother’s memorial service.

The award show organizers have invited Janet as part of a tribute to Michael. A spokesperson for the event said,

“Janet is a music icon in her own right and a previous MOBO presenter. We loved her past involvement with the show and MOBO will continue to support her music and champion her career.”

The event, which is taking place outside of London for the first time this year, is likely to feature individual tributes to MJ with performances by other artists. The spokesperson said:

“Michael Jackson was a key catalyst and influence on the culture, lifestyle and music that MOBO supports and represents.

His sound, style and dance moves have inspired subsequent generations of pop, soul, R& B and hip-hop artists.

Artists such as Usher, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake often cite Michael Jackson as their inspiration and it is key that we commemorate his life, achievements and legacy.

His appeal was universal. People of all nations, cultures and ages have enjoyed – and continue to enjoy – his music. He broke many barriers during the course of his musical career and has left a legacy that changed the landscape of the music industry forever.

Despite his troubles, Michael always found purpose in his music and it gave him greater passion in his performance.

He was a born entertainer, a consummate showman and always put 110 per cent into his performances, regardless of any issues he was having in his private life.

He enabled the urban artists who follow in his footsteps to be successful on a mainstream level – artists MOBO continues to showcase and champion year after year.

As such, it is absolutely fitting that he is remembered at our show.”

Organisers want the show to be celebratory in nature. The spokesman added:

“We hope it will be an opportunity to celebrate his legacy and show that his music lives on not only in the heart of his millions of fans worldwide but also in his music and in the music of his contemporaries.”

Jackson Autopsy Complete – But Still Secret

Posted in: 10th August 2009

The L.A. County Coroner’s Office has completed the autopsy on Michael Jackson. The report, which includes cause of death, has been written — but it is on an indefinite security hold at the request of the LAPD.

Our sources say the LAPD does not want the report released because it could make the investigation into Jackson’s death more difficult. We believe the coroner’s report will conclude Jackson died at the hands of another and that finding could scare witnesses the LAPD needs to interview.

UPDATE: The LAPD released a statement saying they asked the Coroner’s Office to hold off on releasing the results. The LAPD says the

“investigation being conducted by the LAPD has included dozens of individual interviews and the service of search warrants locally and out of-state.”

Actor Claims He May Be Paris Daddy

Posted in: 9th August 2009

The godfather of Michael Jackson’s three kids says he

“could be”

the father of Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris .. and it sounds like he may be waging a legal fight.

Mark Lester — a longtime friend of Jackson’s — says M.J. asked him if he would donate sperm during the time the singer was married to Debbie Rowe. He says a London clinic contacted him and he obliged with the donation.

Lester claims there’s an uncanny resemblance between his 15-year-old-daughter Harriet and Paris.

Lester, who spoke with News of the World, says he is willing to take a paternity test.

Lester says he has

“concerns about the welfare and upbringing of the children.”

Lester says he does not currently have contact with Jackson’s three kids and it’s

“heartbreaking.”

Lester did not say he’s gearing up for a legal fight, but the signs are there ….

UPDATE: 2:27 AM ET: Katherine Jackson’s lawyer, Londell McMillan, is scoffing at Lester’s claim and the move made by Dr. Arnold Klein’s lawyer in court last Monday. McMillan said,

“These genetic lottery attempts aren’t going anywhere. They have no legal standing. They may seek 5 seconds of fame but the claims have no merit.”

Doctor gave Jackson sedatives before death

Posted in: 7th August 2009

Source tells AP Murray administered benzodiazepines along with propofol

LOS ANGELES – Hours before Michael Jackson’s death, his doctor administered multiple sedatives along with a powerful anesthetic the pop star used to sleep, according to a law enforcement official. It’s a safe combination if done properly; potentially lethal if not.

The official said the type of sedatives Dr. Conrad Murray gave Jackson were benzodiazepines, often used to calm patients before surgery. Murray told investigators the doses were within normal medical guidelines, said the official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Even at acceptable levels, benzodiazepines can intensify how the anesthetic propofol depresses breathing, so strict monitoring and careful dosing is required. The balance can be tricky, a slip-up disastrous.

Murray, who administered the drugs to Jackson in a room at the pop star’s rented mansion, told investigators Jackson stopped breathing the morning of June 25 and he was unable to revive him. The doctor is the central figure in what police term a manslaughter investigation, though authorities have not classified him a suspect.

In a written statement Thursday, Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, dismissed as

“ridiculous”

the official’s assertion that Murray gave Jackson multiple drugs.

“We are not going to be responding to any accusations from any unnamed sources,”

Chernoff said.

As investigators build their case, a central issue is what drugs were in Jackson’s system when he died. The official said preliminary toxicology tests detected the propofol, a drug normally used to render patients unconscious for medical procedures but that Jackson used as a sleep aid.

Further analysis will determine whether other drugs were present and in what quantity, allowing the coroner to conclude whether they contributed to the death.

Authorities On Hunt For Propofol with Murray

Posted in: 30th July 2009

Law enforcement was on the hunt for evidence of Propofol when they searched Dr. Conrad Murray’s home and office in Las Vegas.

According to the search warrant, authorities were looking for, among other things,

“records, shipping orders, distribution lists, use records relating to the purchase, transfer, receiving, ordering, delivery and storage of PROPOFOL.”

Interestingly, in the Houston raid, authorities wanted a Rolodex card with FedEx information.

Dr. Murray to Cops: I Gave Jackson Propofol

Posted in: 28th July 2009

We’ve told you since July 15 police believe Dr. Conrad Murray administered Propofol to Michael Jackson — the drug that killed him. There’s a reason police believe it. Dr. Murray told them.

Two days after Jackson’s death, Dr. Murray told LAPD detectives he administered Propofol to the singer hours before he died … this, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

We’re told Dr. Murray gave Jackson an IV drip of the powerful anesthesia. Police believe Dr. Murray simply wasn’t paying attention when the singer’s heart stopped beating.

Authorities believe Dr. Murray may have actually fallen asleep during the time the drug was administered and may have awakened to find Jackson already dead from heart failure.

An IV drip of Propofol allows a constant, steady infusion of the drug for a period of time determined by the person administering it.

It is considered reckless in the medical community for a doctor to administer an IV drip of Propofol without the patient being monitored by an EKG, which sounds an alarm when the patient’s pulse drops too low. No EKG was found in the house.
