Michael Jackson Surveillance Video Erased

Posted in: 16th March 2011

The surveillance video of Michael Jackson’s home the day he died has been erased — lost forever, because the LAPD never knew MJ’s death would turn into a criminal case.

The LAPD only copied 4 minutes of footage from the surveillance videos trained on Michael’s house the day he died. The video shows Jackson coming home from rehearsal at around 12:30 AM.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s lawyers will ask a judge today to order authorities to turn over the nearly 24 hours of surveillance video surrounding MJ’s death.

But here’s what we found out. The tape recirculates every 24 hours, and when the LAPD pulled the video shortly after MJ’s death, the case was not a homicide investigation so all cops wanted to do was establish a time line — so the only relevance of the video was showing when MJ entered the home.

We’re told cops never looked at the rest of the surveillance video.

The video would have shown who entered the house and when, on the day MJ died. It will now and forever remain a mystery.

MJ’s Kids – Murray Couldn’t Have Killed Dad

Posted in: 20th February 2011

Michael Jackson’s children refused to believe their dad died of a heart attack – because MJ used to RAVE that Dr. Murray was the best doctor on Earth.

MJ’s former nanny, Grace Rwaramba, spoke with LAPD investigators in the months after Michael died  … and explained how Murray became a “regular” around the house when the singer lived in Vegas … coming by at least two times a week.

Grace told investigators Michael would constantly brag about Murray in front of the kids — and that’s why after he died, the kids would say, “There’s no way daddy could have died of a heart attack because Dr. Murray is the best doctor in the whole world.”

Grace also said Michael first met Murray through a member of MJ’s security team … and explained  MJ felt he could trust Murray, because the security guy claimed he had some sort of mysterious leverage over the doc.

Klien Files for Bankruptcy

Posted in: 25th January 2011

Michael Jackson’s former dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy — claiming he owes his creditors $3.5 million — RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Klein filed for Chapter 11 at the Central California Court as a ‘Single Debtor’ on January 20, 2011, listing his medical office on 435 North Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills where Jackson was a frequent visitor.

According to the court papers, Klein filed as an “individual” and he checked the box listing the number of his creditors as being between “1 and 49″. It also lists his assets as being between “$0 and $50,000″ and estimates his liabilities as being between “$1,000,001 and $10 million”.

According to the bankruptcy filing, the list of creditors holding the 20 largest unsecured claims against Dr. Klein amounts to $3,518,584.

The biggest accumulative debts against Dr. Klein was with City National Bank totaling some $2,695,150 in credit lines and unpaid mortgage loans.

In the bankruptcy filing it reveals that Klein owes American Express $79,493 in credit card fees, Bank Of America $79,852 in credit card and banking fees, Chase $17,579 in credit card fees and $51,857 with Citibank in credit card fees.

In addition, Klein owes a Dr. David Rish $115,000 and the IRS some $127,000 in unpaid taxes, plus $103,392 to medical firm Allergen for unpaid medical supplies.

Hear An Explosive Interview With Dr Arnold Klein’s Ex-Lover

Klein is due in court March 24th at 2pm PT for a status hearing.

Following Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, Klein became a prominent figure in the investigation surrounding the superstar’s death and multiple reports claimed he is the father of two of Jackson’s children. During one appearance on Larry King Live, Klein dodged the questions, refusing to deny it. Later he did deny it, issuing this carefully worded statement: “To the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children. “I can’t answer it in any other way. I don’t want to feed any of this insanity that is going around.”

Klein said he had been a sperm donor.

He also admitted prescribing Demerol to Jackson.

Jackson and Klein had a decades-long association and the King of Pop visited Klein’s office just three days before dying. “He danced in my office,” Klein said. “He danced for my patients.”

Klein was ordered to pay high-powered Los Angeles law firm of Glaser, Weil, Jacobs, Howard & Shapiro $35,000 in a dispute over an outstanding debl.
On November 1, 2010, a fire broke out at the kitchen of his home in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles causing $200,000 in damages.

Three people were slightly injured in the blaze which was fought by 48 firefighters at his massive mansion which Jackson used to visit too.

In addition last summer the Bank Of America sued the dermatologist for one million dollars claiming a breach of a written agreement, unjust enrichment and indebtedness, among other allegations.

The lawsuit stemmed from a line of credit the high profile Dr Klein took out in July, 2008.

Dr. Murray: “I’m An Innocent Man”

Posted in: 25th January 2011

Dr. Conrad Murray just pled not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, when the judge asked Murray for his plea, he said, “I’m an innocent man, Your Honor,” adding, “I definitely plead not guilty.”

Judge Michael Pastor ruled earlier this month that there is enough evidence to force Murray to stand trial. Today’s brief arraignment is part of this process.
The trial date has been set for March 28, and, if convicted, Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

Katherine Jackson Files Legal Documents Against AEG LIVE

Posted in: 22nd January 2011

Katherine is challenging AEG’s motion to dismiss the wrongful death lawsuit against the company.

In her docs, Katherine says AEG retained Dr. Conrad Murray for an “exorbitant salary of $150,000 monthly,” and in return Murray agreed to “get Jackson to attend rehearsals and perform.”

Katherine’s lawyers claim it should have been obvious to AEG when Murray requested CPR equipment at MJ’s home that “the medical treatments being administered risked stopping Jackson’s heart and breathing.”

Katherine’s lawyer continues, “This is hardly the type of risk expected in an ordinary house visit from a family doctor.”

The lawyers claim, “AEG should have known that the course of treatment being administered by Dr. Murray was unorthodox and unsafe.”

Usher Talks of Advice from MJ

Posted in: 16th January 2011

Usher says Michael Jackson showed him the importance of mentoring young artists.

The R&B artist spent a lot of time with the ‘King of Pop’ before his untimely death aged 50 in 2009. He will never forget some of the kind words and advice Michael gave him, and says it’s part of the reason he tries to encourage young artists.

Usher discovered 16-year-old Justin Bieber, and hopes the teenager looks up to him in the same way. “Michael Jackson told me to be the best I can be and know that as people, we are always making history in everything we do. I’ll never forget that,” he explained.

“James Brown is a massive influence on who I am. He once said to me, ‘If you stay ready, you ain’t gotta get ready.’ People like him and Michael Jackson mentored me, now I hope to mentor the up and coming.”

Usher knew Justin was set for stardom as soon as he heard him sing. The young musician has gone on to achieve worldwide fame, winning hordes of young female fans in the process. Usher was blown away by how strong the teenager’s voice was, and how confident he was as a performer.

“I’m a very proud man,” he told Company magazine

Think About What You Read!

Posted in: 15th January 2011

By Charles Thomson

January 14, 2011, (Sawf News) – Among the less scrupulous red-top reporters on both sides of the Atlantic, there’s an old adage; ‘Never let the facts get in the way of a good story’.

I can’t think of a recent story which has embodied that philosophy more than TMZ’s supposed scoop yesterday, accusing Michael Jackson of pressuring a dentist into putting his youngest son Prince Michael II (AKA Blanket) to sleep with anesthetic.

‘MJ Pushed Dr. To Improperly Give Son Anesthesia’, read TMZ’s headline. Shocking indeed. Certainly more shocking than ‘MJ’s Son Went To The Dentist Two And A Half Years Ago’, which would have been a far more accurate assessment of the situation — for while TMZ accused Jackson of ‘subjecting one of his children to risky medical treatment’, the truth was far more banal.

At the heart of this story is the allegation that in July 2008, Dr Mark Tadrissi performed oral surgery on two occasions, once on Jackson and once on his son Blanket, which required the use of anesthetic. The snag? Dr Tadrissi didn’t have a permit to use general anesthetic in his office, but called in an anesthesiologist anyway and went ahead with the surgeries. Dr Tadrissi was investigated over his actions in 2009 and sanctioned by the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners in 2010.

The TMZ article appears to have been written with two specific intentions; the first, to suggest that Jackson was reckless when it came to drugs — particularly anesthetic, an overdose of which caused his death in June 2009 — and the second, to suggest that he was a bad father, ordering his then six-year-old child to undergo a procedure involving the ‘risky’ use of general anesthetic. In actuality, the facts and evidence demonstrate neither point.

Describing the use of anesthetic on a child during oral surgery as a ‘risky medical treatment’ is utterly inaccurate and entirely irresponsible. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s (AAPD) website, “General anesthesia can be helpful for children requiring significant surgical procedures.” Jackson’s son required two hours of dental surgery. The AAPD website also states that, “general anesthetic can be used safely and effectively when administered by an appropriately-trained individual in an appropriately-equipped facility.” This brings me neatly to my next point.

According to TMZ’s own version of events, which purports to be taken from internal documents, Dr Tadrissi told Jackson he wasn’t able to administer anesthetic – so Jackson instructed the doctor to bring in a qualified anesthesiologist.

According to a legal document obtained by SawfNews.com — a Stipulation Agreement filed by the Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners in March 2010 — Dr Tadrissi did exactly that, hiring a ‘Nevada licensed anesthesiologist’ to administer anesthetic during Jackson’s own surgery. His son’s surgery is not mentioned in the Stipulation Agreement, but there is no evidence to suggest that Dr Tadrissi’s actions differed when treating the boy.

This confirmation that Dr Tadrissi hired a licensed anesthesiologist renders some segments of TMZ’s article entirely fictitious, not least it’s incredibly misleading headline, ‘MJ Pushed Dr. To Improperly Give Son Anesthesia’. The anesthetic wasn’t given by the doctor and it wasn’t given improperly. Moreover, Jackson didn’t push the doctor to administer anything. By TMZ’s own admission, Jackson specifically asked for a professional anesthesiologist.

The article’s first line is also fictitious, stating that, “Michael Jackson subjected one of his children to the same risky medical treatment that eventually killed him.” Jackson died in his home after his personal doctor — not a qualified anesthesiologist – self-confessedly administered anesthetic unnecessarily and did so without any of the necessary accompanying equipment. Conversely, in 2008 Jackson allowed a licensed anesthesiologist to sedate his son using the correct equipment in a dentist’s clinic for necessary surgery. The situations aren’t remotely comparable.

Once you strip TMZ’s scoop of its inaccuracy and hyperbole, here’s what you’re left with; in 2008, Michael Jackson took his son to a dentist, who told Jackson that his son required a two-hour-long surgical procedure and would need to be anesthetized. Jackson asked the dentist to hire a licensed anesthesiologist. The dentist complied. The boy was sedated under the correct circumstances and monitored by a professional throughout his surgery. In other words, Jackson behaved like any other parent, allowing his child to undergo necessary medical treatment but first ensuring that it was to be done properly.

By wrongly accusing Jackson of ‘pushing’ and ‘cajoling’ the dentist into conducting a ‘risky medical treatment’, TMZ implies that the dentist’s care was somehow substandard or dangerous. This is untrue. Dr Tadrissi did not stand accused of endangering his patients, giving substandard care or any other form of incompetence. He simply allowed a licensed anesthesiologist to sedate a patient in his clinic without the correct permit.

So for all TMZ’s sensationalism — which would have you believe that Dr Tadrissi is some sort of Dr Feelgood, dishing out anesthetic like lollipops — his only real mistake was one akin to selling a few bottles of Wild Turkey out of one’s garage without first acquiring a liquor license. Aside from covering the cost of the investigation ($2750), Tadrissi was simply required to complete eight hours of education (four on ethics, four on record keeping) and take a jurisprudence exam.

Through misleading and at times wholly inaccurate wording, TMZ has spun a bureaucratic misdemeanor into an exaggerated tale of medical malpractice and maniacally irresponsible parenting. The timing is suspicious; Dr Conrad Murray has just been ordered to stand trial for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson and the media’s coverage of both the singer and his physician could significantly impact potential jurors’ views on the star’s death between now and the trial. By twisting the facts in order to portray Jackson as a deranged diva who demanded the ‘risky’ use of anesthetic on himself and his six-year-old son, TMZ paints a picture of a man who could very easily have bullied his physician into giving him anesthetic or even have administered it to himself.

TMZ’s sensationalistic story about Jackson’s trips to the dentist is especially irresponsible given that the website is now seen by many as a go-to spot for news on the star. Ever since the site was the first media outlet in the world to break the news of Jackson’s death (although many fans have labeled this a fluke, claiming that the site announced Jackson’s death long before it was even called at the hospital) the website has achieved a level of popularity, recognition and perceived credibility which it had never before seen. Already, dozens of other websites have replicated TMZ’s story and many more will almost certainly follow suit. In an industry plagued by ‘copy and paste’ journalism TMZ should take more care to ensure that its journalism is both fair and accurate. Neither can be said for yesterday’s story.

Jackson Fragrance Line On The Way

Posted in: 14th January 2011

Michael Jackson’s father is set to launch a fragrance collection dedicated to his late son.

Joe Jackson has teamed up with a French perfume company to create the male and female scents, called Jackson’s Tribute and Jackson’s Legend, which are inspired by plants grown at the late King of Pop’s Neverland Ranch.

The family patriarch signed the deal with bosses of the Julian Rouas Paris company last month (Dec10), and the fragrances have since gone into production ahead of a 7 March (11) release in the U.S. A portion of the proceeds will given to a number of the late singer’s favourite charities.

The firm’s chief executive, Franck Rouas, tells the AFP, “With Joe Jackson, we are 50-50 partners in world sales, television rights and advertising receipts (for the collection)… We did it very, very quickly. Usually it takes a year.”

A representative for Jackson’s estate has confirmed the project has not been authorised by them, branding it “a Joe Jackson deal”.

‘Heal the World’ Group Ordered to Stop Exploiting MJ

Posted in: 14th January 2011

The Estate of Michael Jackson today announced that United States District Court Judge Dolly M. Gee granted its request for a preliminary injunction enjoining the “Heal the World Foundation” from further exploiting the use of Michael Jackson’s name, image and likeness and also from using any Michael Jackson-related trademarks.

The injunction stems from a lawsuit filed on September 29, 2009 in United States District Court in Los Angeles against two related entities operated by Melissa Johnson in the California desert communities of Indio and Palm Desert that have been using the “Heal the World” name.

While Michael had a Heal the World Foundation, it had been inactive for many years prior to his death last June 25. The plaintiffs in the action are Jackson Estate Executors John Branca and John McClain, along with Triumph International Inc., a Michael Jackson company now owned by his Estate.

In her written order, Judge Gee wrote that the websites of Ms. Johnson’s entities “convey to consumers a false affiliation with Michael Jackson and have, in fact, misled consumers into believing that Defendants are associated with Michael Jackson or Jackson’s foundations.” She added that the decision by Ms. Johnson’s entities to use Michael Jackson-related trademarks in its websites and on products it sells “is clearly related to Michael Jackson’s commercial success.”

Judge Gee also found that Ms. Johnson’s entities violated “anti-cybersquatting” laws through its attempts to register the “mjaid.com” and “mjquotes.com” domain names, noting that using “mj” in the two domain names would likely confuse consumers into believing that the websites were associated with Michael Jackson. Judge Gee concluded that the Estate will likely succeed on the merits in trademark infringement, unfair competition and related claims. She also concluded that an injunction is in the public interest, and that the Estate would otherwise lose substantial revenue and goodwill.

“Michael had no ties to this Heal the World Foundation,” said Vincent Chieffo, attorney with Greenberg Traurig LLP, representing the plaintiffs. “We believe the court made the correct decision to protect Michael’s fans from being misled into believing they are contributing to either an official Michael Jackson charity or one of his causes.”

Conrad Murray Preliminary Hearing Summary

Posted in: 12th January 2011

LOS ANGELES — A judge on Tuesday ordered the personal physician of Michael Jackson to stand trial for involuntary manslaughter after hearing testimony that he administered a lethal dose of a powerful anesthetic and other sedatives then left the pop star alone.

The ruling in the case against Houston cardiologist Dr. Conrad Murray came after a six-day preliminary hearing before Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor.
Prosecutors concluded their case with testimony from two doctors who said Murray acted outside the standard of medical care when he administered the propofol then failed to provide proper care.

Both witnesses said that even if Jackson had self-administered the final dose of the drug, his death would be a homicide because of Murray’s actions.
Murray, 57, has pleaded not guilty, and his attorneys have said he did not give Jackson anything that should have killed him. Murray could face up to four years in prison if tried and convicted.

During the hearing, prosecutors built a timeline of Jackson’s final hours and Murray’s actions, suggesting the singer died because of Murray’s gross negligence.
Though many details were previously revealed in court filings and accounts from law enforcement officials, the hearing featured new disclosures and compelling moments such as Jackson’s burly former bodyguard choking back tears as he recalled the two oldest Jackson children watching their father in his death throes.

The guard, Alberto Alvarez, said daughter Paris fell to the ground crying out, “Daddy!” before Alvarez led them from the room.
Jackson’s mother, Katherine, seated in the courtroom, dabbed at her eyes during the testimony. The famous Jackson siblings — Janet, Jackie, LaToya, Randy and Rebbie — were present every day along with their parents.

Alvarez also testified that Murray instructed him to place medicine vials in bags before calling 911 on the day Jackson died.

Police Detective Orlando Martinez said Murray told him he found Jackson not breathing just after 11 a.m. on June 25, 2009. Phone records showed 911 was not called until 12:21 p.m.

Paramedics and an emergency room doctor all testified that they thought Jackson died in his bedroom, before he was transported to a hospital where Murray insisted resuscitation efforts continue.

The medical personnel also said Murray didn’t tell them he had given Jackson propofol, which is normally administered in hospital settings.
Using phone records and testimony from Murray’s current and former girlfriends, prosecutors also showed the doctor was on the phone before and after he gave Jackson the lethal dose of propofol and sedatives.

Martinez testified about the timeline Murray laid out in a nearly three-hour interview with police two days after Jackson died.

Murray described a nearly 10-hour ordeal of trying to get Jackson to sleep, giving him a valium pill and two other sedatives intravenously before yielding to the singer’s demands for propofol.

Jackson called the anesthetic his “milk,” and coroner’s investigators later found several vials of it in a bag labeled “Baby Essentials” in Jackson’s closet.
Martinez said Jackson told Murray if he couldn’t get sleep, he might have to cancel his widely heralded “This is It” comeback tour. The doctor spoke of feeling pressured to give the star the propofol he wanted, the detective said.

Defense attorneys rarely call witnesses or present their own theories during preliminary hearings, which have a lower standard of proof than criminal trials.
But lawyers for Murray did reveal possible trial strategies while questioning witnesses.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff challenged Alvarez’s recollection of events in Jackson’s bedroom but stopped short of asking if there was enough time for him to do everything he said he did before dialing 911.

Another defense attorney, J. Michael Flanagan, quizzed a coroner’s investigator about whether a syringe and an empty vial of propofol found under a table next to Jackson’s bed, were within reach of the singer.

The judge barred an answer after a prosecutor objected.

Under Chernoff’s questioning, Martinez said Murray recalled Jackson asking to self-administer propofol. Prosecutors said they expect the defense to claim Jackson administered the deadly dose himself while Murray was out of the room.

The testimony painted a troubled portrait of a singer who had grown more reclusive since his 2005 acquittal on child molestation charges. He was plagued by insomnia, and the choreographer of his show said he seemed ill and “lost” a few days before the final rehearsals but rallied to do “fabulous” work in the final two days.

Jackson had been receiving propofol intravenously six nights a week for the two months before his death, Murray told detectives.
When Alvarez and paramedics arrived at the singer’s bedroom, they were surprised to find the 136-pound singer wearing a surgical cap and urinary catheter. Far from looking like a pop superstar about to embark on a 50-concert tour, Jackson seemed more like a hospice patient, one paramedic said.
Jackson’s family and fans have contended the doctor should be tried for murder. During the hearing, a plane flew over the courthouse trailing a banner with Jackson’s image that read, “Change the Charge to Murder.”

Jackson ‘Threatened To Cancel London Shows Without Drug Help’

Posted in: 11th January 2011

Michael Jackson threatened to cancel his London comeback concerts unless he was given drugs to help him sleep on the day of his death, a court has heard.

Detective Orlando Martinez took the stand at a Los Angeles court on Monday (10Jan11) to testify at a preliminary hearing to decide whether Jackson’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray should stand trial on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Murray is accused of administering a fatal dose of anaesthetic Propofol which killed the singer on 25 June, 2009.

Martinez, who interviewed Murray two days after the star’s death, claimed the medic told him he had been giving Jackson the anaesthetic six nights a week for two months leading up to his death, but was trying to wean him off the drug, according to the Associated Press. The cop claims Murray told police that on the day of Jackson’s death, he gave him sedatives lorazepam and midazolam intravenously and supplied a valium pill, but the star complained he still couldn’t sleep.

Martinez quoted Murray as saying, “Mr. Jackson began to complain that he couldn’t sleep and that he would have to cancel his rehearsal and cancel his shows if he couldn’t get any sleep since he couldn’t perform.”

Martinez claims Murray then gave Jackson a dose of Propofol, telling the court, “It was an injection to get him to sleep and a slow drip to keep him sleeping.”

After Jackson fell asleep Murray left the room to go to the bathroom but returned shortly afterwards and “was stunned to see Mr. Jackson not breathing”, according to Martinez.

The singer had suffered a cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead by medics. Murray has pleaded not guilty to the charge of involuntary manslaughter.
