Michael Jackson Attends Funeral Of James Brown
December 31st, 2006Michael Jackson attended the funeral of James Brown yesterday in Augusta, Georgia.
The ceremony was led by Rev. Al Sharpton, who told the 9,000 audience that James Brown wanted Michael to be there according to Reuters. “I don’t care what the media says tonight, James Brown wanted Michael Jackson with him here today.”
He continued, “(James Brown) said … ‘I love Michael.’ He said, ‘Tell him don’t worry about coming home. They always scandalise those that have the talent. But tell him we need to clean up the music and I want Michael and all of them that imitated me to come back and lift the music back.”
Michael told the mourners that Brown was his “greatest inspiration.” He told how watching Brown dance left him mesmerised. “James Brown, I shall miss you and I love you so much. Thank you for everything.”
