Bon Jovi slammed the suggestions that he put down Michael Jackson at the World Music Awards in London, insisting that he was not even invited to attend the event.

Bon Jovi was in London for his induction into the UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier in the week and many expected him to present Michael with the Diamond Award at Earls Court. Bon Jovi received the same award in 2005.

Press had accused that Bon Jovi avoided presenting the award to Michael because of the stigma following Michael’s trial.

Bon Jovi’s spokesperson told the New York Daily News, “An invitation to attend and/or present at the World Music Awards was not received.”
