Rowe Didn’t Spill & Burkle Is Out

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

By Roger Friedman

Debbie Rowe did not tell an Irish newspaper that Michael Jackson isn’t the
biological father of her children. Her friends tell me she has no idea why
such a story suddenly spilled out. Rowe, I’m told, is recovering from the
flu and, friends say, is pretty sure it’s not jet lag from traveling to
Ireland.

In fact, friends say, it doesn’t even make sense, since Rowe could get
millions for an official interview about her kids. “Why would she give a
free interview to a small paper in Ireland?” they ask.

Rowe thinks the story may be a result of Jackson’s anti-Semitic comments
that were broadcast last week, combined with the fact that Rowe converted
from Catholicism to Judaism, making Prince and Paris Jewish.

“The other irony is that most of Jackson’s lawyers and accountants are
Jewish,” says an insider. “I wonder what they think of all this.”

There’s been no progress so far in Rowe’s custody case despite erroneous
reports of many different arrangements.

Jackson, however, has his own problems. Aside from a barrage of expensive
lawsuits, a dwindling cash situation and a never-released charity single,
the former pop star was recently kicked to the curb by his financial angel,
multi-millionaire Ron Burkle, the grocery store chain mogul and Democratic
Party fundraiser.

Burkle, currently said to be traveling abroad with former president Bill
Clinton, stepped in last June and tried to untangle Jackson’s money messes.
I’m told that after four months he’s decided to call it quits, and has ceded
operations back to Michael’s brother Randy and the Prince of Bahrain.

Jackson had thought Burkle would cover his soon to expire $270 million worth
of loans, and help him retain his 50 percent ownership of Sony/ATV Music
Publishing.

But Burkle would not do that, and I’m told whatever money he loaned to
Jackson has been recovered or replaced, perhaps by the prince.

The one thing Burkle is said to have accomplished during his short run was
settle a lawsuit filed by videographer Hamid Moslehi. Presumably, such a
settlement would include Moslehi turning over footage from the “rebuttal
video” he filed with the Arvizo family in February 2003, the making of which
was the painstakingly wrong thesis developed by the prosecutors in their
botched child molestation case against Jackson.

And that brings us to this latest news from Santa Maria. Jackson, British
tabloids say, is being investigated by failed Santa Barbara District
Attorney Tom Sneddon for either drug abuse or drug trafficking.

As someone who spent four months in a courtroom this year with Jackson and
Sneddon, I can tell you that this seems like sour grapes. Whatever Jackson’s
drug problems are, this comes off as Sneddon trying to save face after
costing the city of Santa Maria and Santa Barbara County millions to promote
his own agenda.

Sneddon says now that investigators found cocaine on the clothes they took
from Neverland in their original search. That was two years ago. If Sneddon
had a case then, he should have brought it. To do it now reeks of the
small-minded thinking that got him in the hot water he’s in today.

The funniest part of this new Sneddon ploy is the idea that Jackson could
somehow be flying illegal drugs from Los Angeles to Bahrain.

First of all, Jackson doesn’t have the money to do that. Second, maybe
Sneddon is unaware that Jackson, if he needed to, could get any drugs he
wanted right where he is.

It’s hard to believe the people of Santa Maria and of Santa Barbara County
are still permitting Sneddon to spend their money on a personal vendetta. If
I were a voter and taxpayer there, I’d be outraged.

JACKSON TO FIGHT ANTI-SEMITIC ACCUSATIONS WITH JEWISH LAWYER

MICHAEL JACKSON’s Jewish attorney has vowed to defend his pop star client
against accusations of anti-Semitism.

America’s Anti-Defamation League (ADL) demanded the THRILLER singer
apologise for allegedly making a series of anti-Semitic comments on a
voicemail message, which was aired on US TV show GOOD MORNING AMERICA on
Tuesday (23NOV05).

The message was purportedly left by Jackson for his former advisor DIETER
WIESNER two years ago (03) - Wiesner is currently suing his former employer
for fraud and breach and contract. He is seeking $64 million (GBP35.5
million) in damages.

But Jackson’s lawyer BRIAN OXMAN, who is himself a Jew, insists he has never
seen a hint of anti-Semitism in the 15 years he has represented the Jackson
family.

He tells the New York Daily News, “I have been with the Jackson family for
15 years, and I’m Jewish. I have never once seen anything anti-Semitic from
him or from his family.”

Raymone Bain Responds To Semitic Leak

Friday, November 25th, 2005

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Raymone K. Bain

November 23, 2005

ATTENTION FANS OF MICHAEL JACKSON

Michael Jackson does not have a racist bone in his body. NEVER would he say anything, or do anything, that would be offensive to any ethnic group, or hurtful to any ethnic group. It is not in his character, or his being. He has spent his entire life reaching out to people throughout the world by spreading love through his music, and his philanthropic efforts.

It is unfortunate that these tapes are being disseminated throughout the airways without any “due deligence” with regards to the authenticity.

However, Mr. Mesereau is representing Mr. Jackson in this matter and the truth will be revealed.

Because this is an on-going legal matter, we are not issuing any statements at this time.

Anti-Defamation League Demands Apology

Friday, November 25th, 2005

The Anti-Defamation League on Wednesday demanded an apology from Michael Jackson after ABC aired what was said to be a telephone answering-machine message in which the pop star referred to Jews as “leeches.”

The message was supposedly recorded two years ago and has now surfaced in connection with a lawsuit against the pop star.

“Michael Jackson has an anti-Semitic streak and hasn’t learned from his past mistakes,” ADL director Abraham H. Foxman said in a statement. “It seems every time he has a problem in his life, he blames it on Jews.”

Jackson infuriated Jewish groups in 1995 when his song They Don’t Care About Us included the lyrics “Jew me, sue me, everybody do me, kick me, kike me.” Jackson apologized, saying the lyrics were meant to demonstrate the hatefulness of racism, anti-Semitism and stereotyping. He then changed the lyrics.

On Tuesday, ABC’s Good Morning America aired portions of a 2003 voice message that Jackson was alleged to have left for a former adviser, Dieter Wiesner.

A transcript provided by the office of lawyer Howard King quotes Jackson as saying: “They suck them like leeches. … They start out the most popular person in the world, make a lot of money, big house, cars and everything and end up penniless. It’s a conspiracy. The Jews do it on purpose.”

Jackson spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain said Wednesday the singer had no comment. A call to Jackson’s lawyer Thomas Mesereau was not immediately returned.

The message was among about a dozen released by King, who represents Wiesner and another former adviser who are locked in business disputes with the pop star and are suing him for millions. King said he released the messages to keep Jackson from appearing sympathetic in court.

Friedman’s take on new Law Suit against Michael

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

It’s no surprise.

Now Dieter Wiesner, Michael Jackson’s manager from the early part of this decade through his arrest for child molestation, has filed suit against the singer. The many charges of fraud Wiesner claims in his Los Angeles Superior Court action total over $60 million.

Wiesner was one of the five unindicted, unnamed co-conspirators in Jackson’s trial this year. He’s using the same attorney as Marc Schaffel, who’s suing Jackson for much less — just about $4 million — in a separate case.

Wiesner, I reported in December 2003, owns or has owned legal sex clubs in Germany. He has disputed this. But the outcry over our report sent Wiesner running from Los Angeles and Jackson back to Hamburg at that time.

The result, if you recall, was that Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson moved in with the Nation of Islam and kicked Wiesner and his partner Ronald Konitzer out.

According to Wiesner’s papers, he was still paid $15,000 a month through the summer of 2004. But all of his deals were canceled, and he was out in the cold.

Konitzer is not involved in this suit. My guess is he’ll file his own. So far, that means Jackson is under fire from five different lawsuits, including one for $48 million from Prescient Partners.

For the Schaffel suit, Jackson was deposed in London earlier this fall. He so far refuses to return to the U.S., and you can see why.

Wiesner’s complaint compares Jackson to Max Bialystock, the scheming character from “The Producers,” constantly moving money around, promising to pay one party while borrowing from another.

Dieter Weisner Files Civil Suit Against Jackson

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

A former adviser to Michael Jackson has filed a $64 million lawsuit against the pop star, alleging breach of contract and fraud.

Dieter Wiesner filed a civil suit against Jackson on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming he paid Jackson, who was acquitted in June of sexual molestation charges, millions of dollars for rights to merchandise his name and likeness that were not Jackson’s to sell.

The complaint alleges Jackson had sold the rights to another buyer prior to Wiesner, who wound up suing Wiesner. That suit was settled with Wiesner lending Jackson even more money, costing Wiesner a total of $9 million to secure the rights and pay the settlement.

The complaint alleges the rights yielded Wiesner little income because Jackson refused to cooperate and actually interfered with merchandising efforts.

Wiesner also claims Jackson fired several advisers and implored Wiesner to step in around 2002 to serve as a personal manager. Wiesner said he was then rudely and abruptly fired when Jackson’s criminal problems surfaced in 2003 with allegations the pop stars had an improper relationship with a young cancer survivor.

Jackson was cleared of child molestation charges in June after a four-month trial and has been spending much of his time in Bahrain.

“True to form, Jackson never paid Wiesner for the countless hours he spent rescuing Jackson from the brink of financial disaster,” the complaint said.

A lawyer for Jackson was not immediately available for comment.

Dimond On Access Hollywood

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

Access Hollywood recently sat down with Court TV’s Diane Dimond, as she shared some revelations about the King of Pop.

The first one – Michael’s high-pitched voice is not his real voice.

“Michael Jackson has a big, deep voice,” Dimond revealed. “Somewhere in there, especially if you bring him bad news or if you make him mad, his voice gets very, very deep.”
This is just one of the many claims in Diane’s new book “Be Careful Who You Love” — the title taken from a line of Michael’s song “Billie Jean.”

Diane said she witnessed one voice incident in person.

“I was there one day when someone asked him about Gloria Allred, the attorney that has sort of dogged him and turned around in one foul swoop and said ‘She can go to hell’ in this big, deep masculine voice.”

Michael’s close friends Liza Minelli and David Gest agree with Dimond, telling Larry King back in 2002 they also heard Michael’s voice change during a phone conversation.

But, according to Dimond, his voice isn’t the only thing Jackson changes, as she says there might even be some looks we’ve never seen.

“I quote a source in the book who says long ago, and I’m talking back in the early 90s, she was a bedroom maid and in the bedroom closet there were racks of disguises, wigs and false teeth,” Dimond claims. “And there was a tray of prosthetic noses that he would wear, that he had to wear to cover up the surgical scars.”

In regards to Diane’s book, Michael Jackson’s spokesperson told Access Hollywood: “Diane Diamond’s assertions warrant no response.”
